About Us
The Human Resources Department provides citizens and businesses of Atchison with a professional and accountable team of public servants. We recruit, train, motivate, and retain employees who deliver excellent service to the Atchison community.
Human Resources supports the management of the City's most valuable resource: its employees. This includes managing screening and hiring of personnel, employee records, personnel policies and procedures, safety administration, employee relations, and benefits communication.

We are committed to providing and supporting quality training programs. We value professional development and believe that training prepares employees to meet day-to-day and long-term challenges.
NOTE: This department is not a community-wide workforce agency.
